Shopping and Entertainment
Burlington’s Church Street Marketplace is home to an array of boutique and national stores offering clothing, shoes, books, home decor, and outdoor gear.
Among the national stores are LL Bean, Athleta, Lululemon, GAP, and MAC. Local stores include but are not limited to Sweet Lady Jane, Expressions, and Echo Clothes Boutique.
The Flynn Center houses the community’s largest theater and draws international and national musical, dance, spoken word, and theater productions.
Several local colleges offer classes and lectures including the University of Vermont, Champlain College, and Middlebury College among several other colleges and community centers in the region.
Echo Science Museum is a ten minute drive from South Village and offers the area a wonderful, hands-on science experience for children.
Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Farms are fifteen minutes away and are amazing local resources offering history and art museums as well as an active and engaging farm experience.
Recreational activities
Surrounding South Village there are opportunities for sailing, hiking and cycling, plus two championship 18-hole golf courses less than a mile away. Vermont National Country Club offers both golf and a community experience and a few minutes down the road. Skiing and snowboarding at some of Vermont’s top mountains are within an hours drive.
